Yoles Rondes boats at Le Marin

On a small beach near the marina and under Indian almond trees, were the local fishing boats.

Here a fisherman with a straw hat sits under the shade of a sail, mending his net.

These are the colourful hulls of traditional Yoles Rondes sailing boats, painted in the colours of the sponsor: Lorraine, the local beer.

And then as I was chatting to a friend, we spotted a Yoles Rondes coming into shore. I got there just in time to take a couple of photos.

It was being sailed by a group of young guys.

No doubt, they were practicing for the annual Yoles Rondes regatta held in August.

There's a real simplicity and natural beauty to these Yoles Rondes.
