Sao Pedro (St Peter) fish market

A Saturday visit to a fish market in Niteroi.
Sardines, squid, prawns, octupii, grouper, namorado, dourado, tuna, trilha, pargo.





Eating up at the top with the crowds.
Prawns in garlic, fried dourado with black beans, rice and pirao.


Stalls outside selling lemons, limes, mandioc root, chillis.

Santa Cruz sunset

Bus along the beach to Jurujuba fishing village at the end.
Walk past Adam and Eve and along the military road carved into rocks above the sea-line.


The 17th century Santa Cruz fort guarding the entrance to Guanabara bay.

Sao Francisco sunset

Sunday late afternoon, Charitas beach, Sao Francisco, Niteroi.
