Manaus fish market

If you want to go to a fish market selling weird-looking Amazon river fish, there's only one place to go: Manaus fish market.

All shapes and sizes, some have zebra markings, others are prehistoric-looking, while one of the species is two metres long (you buy chunks).

If, after all of this, you still have an appetite, I can recommend a stall just outside that has skewered barbequed fish, which is served with Baiano (rice and black-eyed peas) and mandioc flour.
