Sunday cricket

On Sunday, there was a match between the England Lions and Windward Islands.

From the stadium in Roseau, the backdrop was the scenic hills of Roseau Valley.

The stadium was almost empty, but the few who were there made up for the lack of supporters, with humoured support and cheering.

Windwards Islands were batting.

The England bowler Briggs took six wickets.

Locals were disappointed by the Windwards Islands this time. They lost on both days and were all out for 97 runs on the last day of the match.

In the nearby botanic gardens, teenagers were playing the game themselves on this quiet Sunday in Roseau.

Perhaps one of them will be playing for the Windwards Islands or even the West Indies one day.
