Brazilian elections - advertising

October 3rd elections coming up.
Advertising everywhere.
Pavements, bikes, cars with megaphones, manifesto leaflets.
Lots of colour, noise, waving of flags, sense of fun- a Carnaval election!

Mandatory voting for 6 positions.
President, federal and state deputies, two state senators, state governor.

Each candidate has a number and all voting is electronic.
Once you key in the number, the candidate's photo appears, for you to confirm.
Dilma is favourite to get in as President.
Romario and a few other football players are running as state deputies!

Results are out by midnight and there are virtually no chances of wrong counting.
Brazil has one of the most advanced voting systems.
It helped the US after the Bush-Gore election fiasco.
An excellent voting system, but the good intent is spoilt by those in power.
Corruption, kick-backs, nepotism and cronyism are rife in Brazilian politics.
